Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you sign up with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. When you sign up with email and password we store your email address. We store the flashcard decks, cards, and study history you create in the app.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the service — authentication, storing your decks, and computing your spaced-repetition schedule. We do not sell your data, and we share it with a third party only when you connect one yourself (see Connecting Claude).

Connecting Claude

You can connect Claude, the AI assistant made by Anthropic, to your Surenki account. Nothing is shared until you approve the connection on Surenki's consent screen. Once connected, Claude can do what that screen lists: read your decks, cards, study history and grammar drills, save your drill results, create decks, and add and edit cards. What Claude reads is sent to Anthropic to answer you, under Anthropic's own privacy policy.

Surenki never receives your conversations with Claude. It stores only what a connected tool saves: the cards and decks Claude adds or edits, and for each drill round the sentences you were asked, your answers and the corrections. To keep the service fair, we count how many requests a connection makes each minute; those counts are deleted after a day.

You can see your connections and disconnect any of them in Settings → Connected apps. Disconnecting stops Claude reading your data from then on.

Storage

Data is stored on servers hosted in the United States. We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers and take reasonable steps to protect your data.

How long we keep it

Your decks, cards, study history and drill results are kept until you delete them or your account. Cards you delete, or that Claude added and you undid, are hidden and kept so they can be restored, until your account is deleted. A connected app's sign-in lasts at most 30 days without use, expired sign-ins are deleted soon after, and disconnecting ends one at once. Our hosting provider keeps server logs, which never include your sign-in tokens, for a short time to fix problems.

Staying signed in

We keep you signed in using an authentication token stored in your browser (via Firebase Authentication). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

Analytics

We collect aggregate, anonymous usage data to understand how the app is used. This does not include personally identifiable information and is not shared with third parties.

Push notifications

If you opt in to push notifications, your browser's push subscription endpoint is stored so we can send you study reminders. You can unsubscribe at any time from Settings.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Surenki.

Your rights

You can export all your data as CSV from Settings → Export, and permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

European users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, your data is processed on the legal basis of contract performance — we need it to provide the service you signed up for.

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in Settings. For anything else, contact us at the address below.

Your data is transferred to and stored in the United States. By using the service you acknowledge this transfer.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
