German A2 Exam: Signs, Ads & Announcements

German A2 Exam: 80 Words from Signs, Ads and Announcements

The reading and listening parts of an A2 exam such as the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 are built from everyday texts: a store guide, a notice on a door, a small ad, a station announcement, a voicemail or a weather report. This deck has the 80 words those texts depend on, from Erdgeschoss, außer Betrieb and Ruhetag to zu vermieten, Nebenkosten, Anschluss and Gewitter.

It starts with the instruction words the exam itself uses (Antwortbogen, Lösung, markieren), so nothing on the paper surprises you. Nouns come with their article and plural, words have IPA, and every card has an example sentence with a translation. Words outside the official A2 list are marked B1: you only need to recognise them.
