125 Common German Phrases for Everyday Conversation

Textbooks teach words, but conversations run on phrases. These 125 everyday German expressions are the ones you hear in shops, cafés, on the phone and among friends: Wie läuft's?, Na ja, Schade, Ich schaue mich nur um, Das klingt nach einem guten Plan.

They cover greetings, agreeing, making plans, apologising, complimenting, asking what someone means, and the filler phrases that buy you time, like Wie sagt man das noch? Many cards note whether a phrase is formal or informal. Each phrase has its English meaning and an example sentence in context. Most are A1 to B1.
